🎬 Cruising, Lust, and Architectures of Sex: The Cinematic Work of Richard Hawkins | Film Screening and Lecture by Christian Liclair (DE) | Are you ready to explore the boundaries between art theory and lived sexuality? We invite you to a special evening that understands the spatiality of sex not only as context but also as a method. 🏛️ 🔥 ⛓️ The venue itself is the program: We'll meet at Hard On, the LMC Vienna's clubhouse. This evening takes place in an architectural space deeply marked by sexual encounters. Together with art historian Christian Liclair, we'll focus on the spatiality of sex. We'll examine how architectures of desire and pornographic formats become starting points for aesthetic research and vehicles of embodied knowledge. 🔞 🎥 📱 Sexual Explicitness and Digital Fragments: We present a selection of recent, sexually explicit films by Richard Hawkins (18+). Hawkins draws on material from OnlyFans accounts and the aesthetics of amateur cam sex. He assembles these fragments into collage-like, almost painterly compositions in which texture, affect, and impact are just as important as the form itself. 🎨 🖼️ 🎭 Art Historical References: Hawkins' work is permeated with profound references to art history. We explore the connections to: Forrest Bess's mystical self-surgery, Pierre Bonnard's sensually charged surfaces, and Antonin Artaud's theatrical excess. | What does it actually mean to historicize pornography through montage? And how do modern, intimate formats like OnlyFans relate to the legacy of those artists who were long dismissed as "too decorative" or "too emotional"? 👣 🌀 📍 The Temporality of Cruising: The evening focuses on the question of space—not just the visual space, but the shifting terrains in which desire moves: the sex club, the digital platform, the street. Like Hawkins' films, sex clubs are not primarily geared toward quick gratification, but rather toward rhythm, delay, and saturation.
